About Us
Wiltshire Wood Recycling is a ‘not for profit' Community Interest Company, formed in early 2006 to offer environmental and social benefits to the community of Wiltshire. Saving wood waste from land fill and offering volunteering opportunities to members of the community.
Support in cash and kind was secured from local councils, private industry and grants to get the scheme running, with the ultimate aim of being self-financing.
Wood destined for landfill is collected, sorted and sold.
Work opportunities are offered on a paid and voluntary basis to people who find it hard to enter/re-enter the job market.
Our clients range from one person businesses to national building groups.
Wiltshire Wood Recycling is based in Castle Combe and is ideally placed to serve the towns of, Bradford on Avon, Calne , Chippenham, Corsham, Devizes, Melksham and Swindon. Our gas powered truck reduces the environmental impacts of any collections or deliveries.
What we do:
- We collect waste wood from construction, joinery and other businesses at a fee below that of conventional skip hire.
- We then grade the wood. We sell the grade 1 wood.
- We manufacture and sell quality wood products.
- We sell kindling wood and fire wood
- Poorer quality wood will be sent for chipping for manufacture into chip board
Unfortunately some wood unfit for any of the above goes into land fill. This amount currently less than 2 % of that which we collect.
